Appearance and fragrance have an immediate impact on consumers’ perception of
your product. Consumers in general, prefer laundry powders containing
coloured speckles and bright, fresh perfumes. AMCOL Detergent Specialties offer
a range of coloured and perfumed granules to allow laundry powder formulators to
enhance their product through easy, low cost, dry blend addition.
PERFORMANCE
All speckles in the ADS range offer a distinct coarse granule that is low dust, none spotting to fabrics and easy to handle. In our manufacturing processes the risk of background colouration, due to dyed fines in the finished product, is eliminated by use of our fluid-bed technology. Our spraying technology ensures exceptional colour coverage to the final speckle, thus reducing the risk of spotting. The very nature of the coarse granule also helps in reducing the time taken between brand changeovers.
Our inorganic substrate granules provide active material in the finished formulation, whilst our bentonite speckles offer the benefits of fabric care and softening through the wash.
By combining our speckled granules with one of our specially selected perfumes, one for each colour variant, the degree of handling can be minimised by formulation of a multifunctional product for post addition to the finished detergent formulation.

FORMULATION
Our full range of speckled products are designed for post addition to the finished detergent formulation with addition levels of speckles typically up to 3% wt in the finished product. ADS semi-speckled bentonite can be added at higher levels, typically up to 18%, to improve the benefits of fabric care and softening through the wash.
The perfume loading on our granules can be varied to enable 0.1-0.5% perfume in
the fully formulated detergent.
