Extrusion can be defined as:

"Mixing components under high shear to produce a homogeneous product as a compact granule."

Processing:

AMCOL Detergent Specialties can process inorganic powders with various materials to produce extruded products.

The extrusion process offers several advantages over standard agglomeration due to the high shear imparted by the process.

Our extensive experience in extrusion of particles for detergent applications allows us to recognise the best route to achieve multicomponent products.

Extruded particles can be made into a variety of shapes, for example, needles, blocks and spheres.
