PERFORMANCE
The use of bentonite clay in a detergent formulation provides softening through the wash benefits by depositing the clay onto the textile. The level of softness is cumulative, dependent on the number of washes the fabric has. By continued washing the bentonite deposited onto the fabric is released and replenished by fresh bentonite clay. This deposition mechanism provides three additional fabric care benefits:-

FORMULATION
Typical addition levels of bentonite of 10 - 18% in the final detergent formulation are the industry norms. At ADS it is possible to provide powdered or granular materials with additional active surfactant content to meet individual customer requirements.

AMCOL Detergent Specialties is a division of AMCOL Minerals Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of AMCOL International Corporation. AMCOL is the world leader in bentonite production with facilities throughout the Americas, Europe, India, and North Africa. AMCOL also has facilities located in Australia, throughout Asia including Thailand, South Korea, and two Chinese locations. The ADS plant in Winsford has been operating as a processing site for over 100 years. The ADS plant in Thailand was commissioned
in January 2006, and the plant in China was commissioned in January 2007. Continued research into agglomeration techniques and regular investment in the most up to date facilities puts ADS at the forefront of process technology. With detergent intermediate production capacity in excess of 100,000 metric tones each year, ADS is able to combine process efficiency and product quality.
